Book is a film about the creation and crafting of an object that is such an integral part of our lives, the simple book. Starting from sheets of paper, it follows the procedure of book making, from the violence of the machinery (the press), to folding, cutting and binding – all coming together for the final product -the sacred union of paper and word enclosed within the bindings.

Director Elton Baxhaku was part of the ENFF documentary workshop hosted by Het Nutshuis in 2011.

The Big Day (Veliki dan)

Documentary, Croatia, 2012, 55 min

Screening in the presence of Director Djuro Gavran
Dutch premiere

Director: Djuro Gavran

The film explores how young people choose for marriage under pressure from their parents, society and media. Weddings are very special events in a lifetime. Detailed and exhaustive preparations are the order of the day when it comes to traditional weddings. The film touches on the concept of how the wedding market fluctuates with the changing trends and needs of the couples and their families. These are the people who literally make wedding dreams come true, on ‘The Big Day’.

Director Djuro Gavran was part of the ENFF documentary workshop hosted by Het Nutshuis in 2011.
